When I saw the article related to a 3D courtroom design (Architectural record, November 2009, tech briefs by Alan Joch), I really think it was a new opportunity to change the style of the actual judge room and the ways how the architectural design is developed. Talking about design of spaces, the architect will find problem about the acoustic and the lighting and these are very important aspect. The Jackson project is designed as an ellipse and I think it’s a great idea. In this case the architect thanked that the problems with the acoustic and light were the most important. Effectively, they are. The 3D design can help to resolve these problems with programs that recreate the reality of the courtroom or any other room. I think that there is most important to feel how the room develops itself and not how the space is distributed.
The Jackson project is well designed as a pilot, recreating the reality and helping to feel how the space is particularly disposed to serve the propose of the room, also the dispose of all the elements from the courtroom are orientated such all the aspects, the judge, the jury, the clients/lawyers and public . The 3D design will help to develop the project and avoid all the possible mistakes in the construction.
